Treatments of the Future, Fifth Annual Parkinson's Disease Conference...

The Parkinson Research Foundation will be presenting a conference to provide Parkinson’s disease patients and caregivers in Southwest Florida with an opportunity to learn about the latest drugs and treatments for Parkinson’s disease that will enhance their lives. Treatments of the Future, Fifth Annual Parkinson's Disease Conference.This 1-day program will have general session presentations beginning in the morning followed by breakout workshops in the afternoon, exhibition sessions during the sponsored snack breaks, and a question and answer session at the end of every speaker’s session.

Morning Sessions will include:
• Non-Motor Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease
• Treatments of the Future

Afternoon Workshops include:
• Mobility
• Voice Aerobics TM
• Dance for Parkinson’s disease
• Nutrition


Dr. Juan Sanchez- Ramos received his Ph.D in Pharmacology and Physiology from the University of Chicago, completed his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Neurology at the Michael Reese Hospital, University of Chicago and his fellowship at the University of Miami. Currently, Dr. Sanchez-Ramos is a professor of Neurology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and holds the Helen Ellis endowed Chair for Parkinson’s disease research. He’s the Director of Stem Cell Research, Center for Aging and Brain Repair, in Tampa, Fl. Dr. Sanchez-Ramos’s current research projects include movement disorders, the neurobiology of adult tissue stem cells, and DNA repair mechanisms in aging neurons.
